It is simply using a type of shorthand, much like the term I think I coined with CiFerati, to encompass what is probably right and wrong with the way the staff at The Guardian's Comment is Free site operate and the way the people "below the line" (the people who provide free content to CiF through commenting, often with more insight, knowledge, wit, wisdom and candour than those who are paid to provide articles) see themselves as being abused in some cases and perhaps in others as being starlets in the making and hoping one day to receive their little blue badge with a magical "C" slapped on it, to denote that they have finally made it to the bottom table, from which they think they can see the A Team.
